In a few sentences, describe your connection to U2FP, why you chose to run in support of
U2FP, and whether you have a personal connection to spinal cord injury and paralysis:
Years ago, I witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact of a spinal cord injury, which gave me a deeper understanding of the challenges individuals face and the importance of research, advocacy, and resources. Running has been a huge part of my life, and I’m honored to use it as a way to support progress for those affected by paralysis.
Is this your first marathon/race? If not, what others have you completed?
Chicago will be my 8th marathon. I’ve previously run the Colfax Marathon in Colorado, Sydney Marathon (twice), Lima Marathon, and Berlin Marathon. In the coming months, I’ll also be running London and Sydney again.
What do you crave after a long run?
A breakfast burrito or the Box Combo from Raising Cane’s
Do you listen to anything when you train or race? If yes, what?
During training, I love listening to a variety of podcasts, including The Giggly Squad, Armchair Anonymous, and The Severance Podcast, plus many others. I usually build a playlist of my favorite pop/rap/rock songs for race day.
What are you most excited and/or nervous about for the marathon?
Looking forward to running Chicago for the first time. I’ve heard great things about the energy on race day!
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Exploring the world with my husband and spending time with our dog, Henry.
Anything else you’d like to share?
Excited to be partnering with U2FP!
