In a few sentences, describe your connection to U2FP, why you chose to run in support of U2FP, and whether you have a personal connection to spinal cord injury and paralysis:
I have worked in adaptive sports for 7 years and am currently in graduate school for occupational therapy. I have worked with people with spinal cord injuries and paralysis in both recreational and clinical settings and have made many great friendships within this community. I will be running the Chicago Marathon in support of U2FP with my good friend Ben Rodes.
Is this your first marathon/race? If not, what others have you completed?
This will be my fourth marathon! I have completed the Maine Coast Marathon, Green Mountain Marathon and Vermont City Marathon. I have done a bunch of half marathons, 2 half ironmans and will be completing my first full ironman in August 2025.
What do you crave after a long run?
I crave a good stretch, chocolate milk and anything salty!
Do you listen to anything when you train or race? If yes, what?
I love to rotate between audio books/podcasts and music for my long runs. For shorter runs I tend to pick music that will match the tempo of my run or have a good chat with a friend.
What are you most excited and/or nervous about for the marathon?
I am excited to visit Chicago, a flat racecourse, and to complete the race with new and old friends!
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love to spend my free time outside; running, biking, swimming, skiing, hiking and spending time with friends and family!
