In a few sentences, describe your connection to U2FP, why you chose to run in support of U2FP, and whether you have a personal connection to spinal cord injury and paralysis:
My nephew has SMA, so I felt identified. He is completely paralyzed and this has caused suffering throughout the family but also has brought growth, motivation and love. I understand what people who suffer from spinal cord paralysis have to face in their daily lives, which is why I am completely moved and support this charity.
Is this your first marathon/race? If not, what others have you completed?
I have previously run both Chicago and New York marathon.
What do you crave after a long run?
It is the most beautiful feeling. It is having fulfilled a challenge that few people in the world can do.
Do you listen to anything when you train or race? If yes, what?
Not necessarily, I usually prefer to connect with myself.
What are you most excited and/or nervous about for the marathon?
Running a marathon is always a big challenge that most people that sign up for one feels nervous about. Training is really hard and involves physical and mental endurance, so I am really excited for what is coming next.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I definitely like running. I have always liked to run. I constantly run shorter distances like around 10k.
Anything else you’d like to share?
I will run the marathon with my son and daughter, it is something I have always dreamed of.
