In a few sentences, tell us about the course you've chosen or designed for this year's Run-Walk-Roll event.
Watertown's self-title is the "Heart of the Luce Line" which is a 63 mile long former railroad that has been developed into a biking, hiking, and horseback riding trail. Along with running straight through downtown Watertown, the Luce Line also runs less than a mile from our house, so it is very easy for Gus and I to mosey on over to the trail and go for a ride. We plan to spread our 20-mile-goal over the course of the three days, doing about 7 miles per day.

Describe your connection to U2FP, why you chose to run in support of U2FP, and your personal connection to the spinal cord injury and paralysis community: The Beckstrom Boys are at it again! Jake was injured 16 years ago, when he was 16 years old. And big brother Gus has been helping Jake live his life to the fullest all along the way! Jake has been the co-manager for the Cure Advocacy Network of U2FP for the last 3 years. Last year, Jake's whole family participated in Run-Walk-Roll for a 3-mile walk down our local biking trail. And we were so grateful for all of the donations we received. This year, the Boys are ditching the parents and attempting a full-on excursion!

What makes you nervous or excited about the Run-Walk-Roll? Gus is very excited about this year's Run-Walk-Roll, because he recently bought himself a brand new bike! He has been riding throughout the summer, but he has never gone 20 miles in one go before.

Fun Facts - tell us something unique or interesting about you? Gus has become quite the Chef over the pandemic, and will be opening his own personal restaurant
